Janesville School District lists retirements and resignations

These employeesâ € ™ career represents more than 902 years of service to the school district.

Ten employees have requested that they are not included in this list. Also not on the list is Professor Parker High School and coach Ron Cramer, whose retirement announcement comes after the list was compiled.

Cramer, with 45 years of service, was featured in the Gazette sports section on June 14.

Employees are listed alphabetically.

- Penny Barwick is retiring after 35 years, all as an English teacher at Parker High School.

- Janet L. Bishop has retired after 19 years with the district. His first year in Janesville was also a teacher for students with learning disabilities in elementary schools in Madison and Wilson. She has worked exclusively in the Madison School since the school year 1993-94. Bishop was his department € ™ s head of unit for three years.

- Tiana Borchardt retired after teaching at Adams Elementary School for 24 years.Before joining the district of Janesville, Borchardt worked for schools in Lake Flambeau 1970-73 for public schools in St. Paul from 1973 to 1977 and Cambridge Community School in Cambridge from 1978 to 1980. Borchardt first taught in Chapter 1 of the program at Adams. She then taught third year for 23 years.

- David Burkholder is retiring after 18 years with the district. He began his career working for CESA 2 in Milton from 1981 to 1993. Whereas with CESA 2, he worked at Glen Oaks School and the School District of Janesville. He became a full-time employee of the Janesville district in fall 1993, as an adaptive physical education teacher. He has been an itinerant teacher at many of the schools, based at Jackson and Kennedy schools.

-- Barbara Campbell retired in March after 15 years with the district. Her first job was as a part-time custodian at Edison Middle School, in 1976. She quickly moved to full-time and stayed at Edison until 2000, when she transferred to Franklin Middle School to become head custodian.

-- Jane Coyle retired in June 2010 after 17 years, all of them at Van Buren Elementary School. She began work in 1993 as special-education aide for the early-childhood program. She worked as an instructional aide and noon-hour supervisor until 2007, when she took on the additional duty of health aide in the office.
