The Old House Fair : 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 18 at 30th and Beech streets in South Park. This event features self-guided biking and walking tours through the neighborhood, exhibitors and vendors, food, live music, arts and crafts, pet adoption corner and a $20 tour of five historic homes. Juneteenth celebration : 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 18 in the 2900 block of Imperial Avenue in Grant Hill. This annual event celebrates Black Independence Day on June 19, 1865, when troops notified the last southern slaves that slavery had been abolished. Father’s Day festival and walk : 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 18 at Tidelands Park, 2000 Mullinix Drive, Coronado. The San Diego Children’s Coalition will celebrate fathers with a walk and festival that includes live music by local bands, a kids’ zone, bike giveaways for kids, hot-dog eating contest, best dad contest, barbecue cook-off, batting lessons from the Padres, exhibitors, food, softball and volleyball games. La Jolla Festival of the Arts : 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 18 and 19 at Warren Field east campus at the University of California, San Diego, at the corner of Genesee Avenue and Regents Road, La Jolla. More than 190 local and national artists will have watercolors, oils, sculpture, serigraphs, jewelry, photography and other media. There will also be food, live entertainment and other events. Car and bike show : 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 18 at the North Park Recreation Center, 4044 Idaho St. Set Free North Park. This Christian outreach event features a car and bike show; Mike Esparza from The Mikey Show; a bounce house, face painting and dance contest for kids; performances by Set Free, Remedy, In the Midst 777 and the SF Yucaipa Band; raffle. Billy Jacobs Artist Signing......
Was a success and so much fun! It's the first time that we have ever done an artist signing....but it definitely won't be the last! Our customers and collector's of Billy's artwork enjoyed getting to meet and talk with him while he was there. His artwork is so down home and I think that everyone can relate to it. His paintings of old weathered farms and barns bring with them that feeling of days gone by. If you aren't familiar with his work....then CLICK HERE to go see some of his prints. Village Gift Shoppe is located in downtown historical Gnadenhutten, Ohio. Situated in the old Village Pharmacy in a 1920's building complete with the original tin ceilings and hardwood floors lies the "Best Kept Secret in Tuscarawas County". Opened November 9, 1999 by Lori Davis and Hope Johnson, the two of us had worked side by side for years with organizing the Indian Valley Middle School's Harvest Craft Show. Our shoppe features handmade consignment items such as shelves, furniture, runners, candles, floral arrangements, soaps, tart melts, jewelry, dolls, rag rugs, wood items and so much more. Both Hope and I have made our own crafts for over 20 years and we travel to Columbus to buy at the wholesale trade shows and order from several well known companies such as Leanin' Tree cards, Colonial Tin, Mathews Wire, Toland Flags, Ragon House, Virginia Candle Co. and more. We feature primitive, folk art, country and a little bit of everything. There's something for everyone here at Village Gift Shoppe.
