Bayahibe defines its sustainable development strategy

Bayahibe, Dominican Republic. - The La Romana-Bayahibe Hotels Association (AHRB) conducts a consultancy in response to the strategic key issues on sustainable development which the destination faces.

The consultancy is being carried out with funds from the project “Sustainable Tourism Management  Model," supported by the Inter-American Development Bank’s Multilateral Investments Fund, and seeks to consolidate the dialogue between all the players involved in its development.

The objective is to define a shared and agreed upon vision, which can reduce the risk that continues prevailing in a decision making process based on strategic plans and individual or sectorial interests.

Also sought is the articulation of the local players around the definition of a strategic vision of destination and the individuation of high priority work areas.

The works will begin with a diagnosis to determine the destination’s competitive advantages, its current markets and its challenges to reach a sustainable development which must form the base for its planning, from the destination’s works and existing studies.

The Association’s members are the hotels Oasis Canoa, Viva Wyndham Dominicus Beach and Viva Wyndham Dominicus Palace, Catalonia Gran Dominicus, Iberostar Hacienda Dominicus, Casa de Campo, La Estancia Golf, Bahía Principe La Romana, Dreams La Romana and Tropical Tour.
